For the streusel: Mix sugar, flour, wheat germ, almond flour, and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. Melt butter in a small bowl and add almond extract. Mix lightly, then incorporate into the dry mixture. Add almonds and lightly toss with fingertips to combine, then set aside. For the filling: Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare cherry filling by tossing both kinds of cherries together in a bowl. Put reserved cherry juice into a saucepan and reduce to ½ cup. Then add clear jel and simmer for approximately one minute or until thickened.

Pulse several times, chopping nuts coarsely. Scatter butter over mixture and pulse until fine crumbs. Place in bowl and mix with fingers until crumbly. Refrigerate until ready to use. Remove pie from oven and reduce oven temperature to 375°F. Place crumbs in center of the pie and then spread evenly over the top of pie. Tamp down lightly. Return pie to oven so that the part facing the front is now in the back. Bake 40 minutes. Cover the pie with tented foil for the last 15 minutes to keep from getting too brown.

Pour filling into pie crust. For the topping: Preheat oven to 350°F. Using a pastry cutter, combine all ingredients in a small bowl until it is a crumb texture. Sprinkle evenly over cherry filling. Bake directly on oven rack for 45 minutes or until set. During last 15 minutes of baking, you may want to cover crust edge to prevent overbrowning. For the garnish: If desired, combine ingredients in a small bowl. Use a teaspoon or fork to drizzle over pie.
